Turning Winds Academy Peru Trip Report

Written by Erik Werner

On November 21, 2018

Turning Winds Academy traveled to Peru from November 4-13th as a Global Education Squad focused on improving Global Education outcomes in a local school. Our Squad donated book shelves with locking systems for each classroom so students had a secure place to store their learning materials and constructed fencing for the school’s garden.

The Squad also constructed a piping system which filters water from the school’s restroom and transports it to a community garden. This is a great way to provide consistent water for the community garden while staying eco focused, using what the school has to provide a clean water source!

Each Squad type has a skill-based focus area that support the education, health and economic development objectives of community partners.
