Erik Werner has been working in Secondary Education and International Community Development for the past thirty years. With an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Carroll College, he embarked in the Peace Corps in Bolivia ’92-’94 where he served as a Small Agriculture and ESL Teacher. Erik received his M.Ed. from the University of Washington and was a High School educator at the Northwest School in Seattle from ’97-’00. Erik was Director and Owner of Global Works student service travel company from ’00-’14 before becoming President and Co-Founder of Squads Abroad, the high school division of the 501c3 international development organization Global Brigades. Erik is a passionate advocate for and architect of integrative programming for high school students involving global experiential learning and sustainable development.
